2000 civic fuel guage issue

so the fuel guage that came with my car didn't have a needle so i went ahead and i bought a sir cluster and replaced the entire thing. Issue is that the fuel level it was at before i installed it hasn't budged at all. The car's currently parked so i haven't tried to pump it to see if it will move but i was wondering if anyone on here knew of a way there's anyway to fix this? My assumption is that i need to recalibrate the fuel guage or something along the lines. Anyone let me know if they've encountered a problem like this before!!
