I have a 2001 LX with 42,800 miles on it. I had the oil changed 2 weeks ago. The car hasn't been the same since. My check engine light was on when I had the oil changed and they told me the code was P0171. Auto Zone reaffirmed this. However, the car now stalls in drive but the rpms are able to rev in neutral. I replaced the air filters and have checked for an air leak to no avail. I drove the car 35 miles yesterday and couldn't get it home. It acts as though no gas is getting to the engine. I can stomp my foot up and down on the accelerator in drive and nothing happens. In neutral, again, it's fine. This problem is more pronounced in the lower gears.
I have a list of the possible sources for the check engine code. I'm a single mother with 3 teenagers. I need to know if this could be a simple fix or if I'm in big trouble.
