I have a 2004 Honda Civic with manual windows and locks. The drivers side door used to only be able to unlock and lock with the key from the outside. I lent the car to my father in law and neglected to tell him this bit of information. When I went to the car the next day, i put the key in, but the lock wouldn't turn. Now, the only way to unlock the driver's side is to go through the passenger's side. In order to lock the door, I have to pull the handle (as if opening the door) and then push the lock down.
My guess is that the father in law forced the lock down (and didn't lock with the key). I think everything got messed up when the lock was forced down. I took the door panel off, but I couldn't figure out/see what was happening.
Any ideas?
