Hey guys, I just order my 2004 civic SI hatch. I want to start ordering parts for it so once it comes into our dealers lot I can slap it on and have it ready to go. So I think I want to go with an intake to start off with. I want one that has a deep roar to it, sound and looks is what I'm looking to get out of it the most. Are the AEM cold air/shortram air/V2 intakes any good for a nice deep sound with some power gains?

Well $300 you can start with the intake and a strut bar.
Don't buy altezzas.

well the ecu is there for a reason... dont blow your motor dude

AEM is good and all.. but I would do it RIGHT the first time and buy either a Comptech Ice box or a J's Racing Intake

get a wholesale license (like my dad has, and im gonna get) and then call up some companies (im startin w/ vis & aem/dc) and get the prices that they charge to stores (youll be surprised how much it really costs) and then buy it str8 from manufacturer (will still have to find a way to give gov their taxes tho :()

i think you should start off by saving for a wheel/suspension upgrade. if you want to do engine stuff(and dont care about warranty) look around for a rsx-s head swap, or if thats too much to start with get the hondata reflash to unlock a lot of that engines potential.

yea are shop has got that... its insane how cheap stuff really is.. only bad thing is they make you buy like 10 at a time, you cant just purchase one i think.... but yea you can always sell the excess..

an intake is an intake....aem is good, but you can get a generic equivilant that is the same basic thing. as long as it is the same design as aem, unless you want to pay to get the aem decal...but you can get an intake cheap then use the 200 or more thats left over for something else.

ive got it!

goto home depot, buy some aluminum tubing, bend it to fit your engine bay but dont have sharp bends, buy a filter, and ur done...to complete "aem look", goto www.stickershop.ca and buy 2 AEM stickers and ur done, no one will ever know

I just took my short ram out and put back in the stock box but left out the other excess tubing because the SRI is way too damn loud, its a cheapy though, and the stock box pulls cooler air as long as you take out the excess piping.

since you got the EP si, i suggest the complete comptech icebox setup. sleeper setup and very good power gains. if you dont like the comptech.. you can try the injen cold air intake. there is not much brands you can choose for the EP hatch.
