All;
Brand new on a Honda forum but I have been doing car projects for years. My daughter's boyfriend rear ended someone last week and now we get to put his '89 Civic hatchback back together. Not going fast so mostly cosmetic but he pushed the hood and front facia in and bent up some minor front end metalwork.
I have been looking through the local classified ads and I found an '87 Hatchback and a '92 hatchback going for parts.
My question to you folks that know about Hondas and the various generations, can either one of the front frames be used on the '89? I want to just cut the front foot or so off a donor car and paste it into the '89 to minimize the amount of metal bashing required but I don't know if the under frame parts are the same.
From what I have seen so far, '87 was the last year of Gen 3 and '92 was the first year of Gen 5. '87 was a transition year though so wondering if the front frame pieces can be cross fit?
