91 Civic DX Hatch - Idle Issues

Just got a 91 civic dx hatch and this is my first honda, I've driven all trucks but I couldn't pass up the price per fuel mileage. So far it's a fun little car but sometimes coasting to a stop it'll surge from somewhere around 1400 rpm to 1000 and back kinda intermittently. I would usually look at the iac but I really don't know anything about these cars as to if they even use an idle air control. Any input would be much appreciated
