96 civic CX fuel issue

96 civic CX d16y7. I feel like I am having a fuel or vacuum leak or something because it feels like I'm not getting fuel to the car. I just rebuilt the engine and I don't know what it could be because it started, then rebuilt, now I'm replacing all this stuff. I've replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump.

It will turn over but not start all the way and when you press the gas it'll kill whatever I have going for a few seconds. My dad sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body and it didn't do anything. Please help!

Check your mechanical timing, at least 3 times. Lets us know how that goes.

I was thinking could have been bad gas. But if it's an old gas filter, clogged fuel lines, clogged fuel injectors or fouled spark plug could be other culprits.

New fuel filter. I'm not sure how to check for clogged lines.

Also I'm not sure now on the lower timing marks now, some people say red and some say white. I think it's the white and that's what I set it up on so I may be wrong
