98 civic 80A fuse blows only in reverse

My 80A battery power distribution fuse blows when I go in reverse. As soon sai let up to quick on the clutch.
My friend thought we could have pinched a wire
In the bell housing of the tranny but I could not see one
Any other ideas or knowledge of a wire
Near the tranny that has to do with either the backup lights or
Anything in reverse?

Definitely

Did you just replace the clutch or replace the transmission?

Unplug the back up lights switch on top of the transmission to see whether this prevents the fuse from blowing. What's unexpected, however, is that dash fuse 19 and hood fuse 42 don't blow first. Therefore, also check the large Wht wire that runs from the alternator to the hood fuse box.

Hmm. Sounds like a difficult talk. Could be related to a ground problem?
