A/c temperature knob stuck

My temperature knob on the a/c unit is stuck on the cold (blue) setting and won't move to the red (heat) section. Is this because it is simply stuck or is it because my 88'civic lx 4dr didn't come with a heater option. NOTE: This car spent 15 years in the Tropical Carribean Island of Puerto Rico before it was sent to Florida. What can I do to get my heater to work. I need HEAT!!! I'm freezin my ass off in the mornins.

Dude your in florida! its cold My rex's nob stoped turning but it broke on me so i just took it apart and replaced it.

hell ya,
it can get pretty dam cold in florida, ask ne1 who lives here. The other day it was 55 degress in the mornin. And the inside of my car is even colder when it's been sittin for a while.
It's hard to drive when you can't stop shivering.

ya, i know what your mean, i used to stay in denver. But still, i'd like to have a heater.

For my girls car i went to the junkyard and found an actual heater control in excellenteh shapoe for 20 dollares ey way . better than 300

hey man i got a heater control knob. or the whole piece, and also the heater core piece that goes under the dash, will let all go for 35 plus shipping. when removed heat blew HOTTTTTT. im GUTTING my 89 lx 4d. so if you want it you can have it....peace

i found one already in the junk yard for 20 dollars
the problem wasn't the knob though like i thought.
the problem is with the cables that run behind the dashboard.
now i gotta figure out how to fix those
