Alternator belt change, stuck, help

Hello all,

I followed the following article to replace my alternator belt.

I loosened my alternator mounting nut and lock bolt, but couldn't budge the alternator forward to slide the belt on, so i removed them completely. Even with them off there is not enough slack to slide the new belt on, and i can't seem to budge the alternator at all to make the slack.

Anyone have any suggestions, or similar experience that may help?

use some sort of small bar, even the L for lug nuts will work..push it up against something and it should work, thats what i usually do for alternators that get stuck..
did you also loosen the bolts up towards the front of the car?

Good idea, will try that soon, i just sprayed the corroded areas with PB blaster, will let it sit for a bit.

What do you mean by the bolts up towards the front? I only loosened 2 bolts for the alternator illustrated below, are there others?
