Brake Bleeding Problem with 1991 LX

I replaced the rear brakes and one wheel cylinder. When I was bleeding the wheel cylinder, I went too long before filling the master cylinder. Now I can't seem to get peddle pressure. I tried bleeding at the master cylinder at the brake lines at the master cylinder. It just doesn't seem to put out any pressure. What am I doing wrong?
