brake light wont turn on

i have a 92 civic hatch my left brake light wont turn on when i press the brakes.i know its not the bulb cuz it turns on when i turn my headlights on.any ideas what the problem may be.

check the ground box under the hood or the switch behind the brake pedal

The bulb has two separate filaments, one for the brake light and one for the taillight. One filament in a double filament bulb can burn out. Therefore, the bulb may be bad.

If the brake light fuse or switch were bad, none of the brake lights would work.
