Car over heats only when idleing

So I just recently did a timing belt and water pump replacement on my 98 Honda Civic lx with the d16y7 motor. I haven't had any problems until just recently. My car drives fine. Not burning and antifreeze that I'm aware of. Already did block test and whatever test to ensure seals and gaskets were still good. But when I idle my car warms up then the fan kicks on and stays on but continues to warm up. But the moment I give it gas it begins to cool down. Leads me to believe that the water pump is faulty but how would a water pump be faulty if it's working when the motor is given acceleration? Help please. I don't want to have to go back down there but if I have to I will need to.

Bleed cooling system and it fixed the problem but how would a bubble of the size gotten in my system. I bleed it previously and I made sure to squeeze all hoses.
