Hi every one.I have a 1997 Honda civic.Its a d16y7 I believe.It has that FAMAS high idle when started and then idle goes up and down.they say to first see why the check in gene light is on.put it on a 12,000 dollar diagnostic and it said that the idle air contole valve was not working at all.before I did that I did a procedure to get air out of cooling system.that didn't do it.tested for vacuum leaks there were none.so paid the 147.00 for a new idle air control valve.it made a little deferance but reverted back to the same.
One thing I for got to mension is that when I would take it for a drive the car would just die.
Then I just took the negative battiey post off then back on.the car would start right up,but had to discont the Batterie as said reconnect and then it would start.
Then back to the drawing board.Please help there no more hair to pall out of my head.
Thank you.??????.could it be the map cencer or maybe the throttle position censer.
