Code 43 fuel pressure

Hey guys got a code 43 today. It's fuel pressure low vaccine leak or fuel pressure regulator. Here is what I'm wondering what could cause it besides the apparent? The car isn't running rough but at idle the rpms fluctuate. Should i get and adjustable regulator and go from t here and how do i check for a vaccum leak?

Rough idle - Clean the IACV and FITV

Code 43 - Since the engine is running fine, the problem could be the O2 sensor.

Those two are fine and brand new O2 sensors.

The book at work said front left fuel supply system circuit malfunction. The one from Honda tech said fuel pressure regulator vaccum leak. So I'm confused.

The other I found from http://www.honda-acura.net/forums/92-civic-el-and-del-sol/67886-obd-1-cel-codes-here.html is sayimg low fuel pressure. It also only happens when i have been driving it for about 10 min or so. Im thinking of ordering a fuel pump and pressure regulator and getting a vaccum leak test done.

Stop guessing and replacing parts randomly.

Whenever you create a tech thread, you should specify your car, engine, mods, etc.

If you are running an OBD2 ECU, which seems likely given that you have two O2 sensors, then pull the OBD2 CEL code with a code reader. It will tell you whether the engine is running rich or lean.

It's a 1993 Honda civic ex D16Z6 with an obd1 p28 ecu. Getting an obd1 code of 43 which I know has something to do with fuel supply.

brand new O2 sensors.
^Your stock 5th generation Civic should only have one O2 sensor. Why do you have more than one?

And, if you carefully read the service manual write up on code 43, you'll see that it can be caused by either a fuel system problem or a problem in the O2 sensor circuit. As you don't have driveability problems, except for an idle issue, then you should pull out your dusty multimeter and do the electrical tests on the O2 sensor wires (see service manual).

For the idle problem, you should try adjusting the FITV (click FITV in my signature), or you need to look for a vacuum or intake air leak.

Yeah sorry it was a typo I do only have one O2. I'm gunna take it to my buddies shop and do a leak test. .also going to pick up a regulator and pump.

Well, replacing parts at random is a poor strategy for fixing car problems. But it's obviously the path you've chosen. Good luck.

Well I did the test at work on my O2 and according to my manual it should have a resistance of 12 which both sides have. I really don't want to pay the price for a new O2 sensor cause they are ridiculously expensive, but I might just to play it safe.

You've already replaced the O2 sensor. Test the two wires that run from the O2 sensor connector to the ECU as per service manual instructions.

OK replaced the O2 it ran fine for a min cel went off then came back on code 43 now it drops down down to almost zero on rpms and chugs and acts like it is trying to choke out but won't ever die. Fitv cleaned working fine. Took it to another shop this morning after talking to them yesterday and they told me they would look at it today and call me. They close at 3 never heard from them so I called the owners after hours number and asked him what the deal is he said Oh we won't be able to get to it until Monday afternoon. I'm pissed. Going to go Monday moring and get my car and take her to the honda speacialist down the road from there.

Ok so got the car back no more CEL. It is still running like absolute crap.
Honda specialist? How much did you pay him not to fix the problem?

Return the car to him and ask for a refund or for him to actually fix the problem.

Yeah they are a shop that is licensed through the honda dealership with mechanics trained to work soley on hondas. I paid them way more than should have but less than going to the dealership. It is really about all Ive got where I live no real import tuning shops. Oh and thank you RonJ for the advice it was extremely helpful. I found a thread on how to adjust the idle properly. I let it warm up and made a mark on the gauge with a white crayon as to where it was before I disconnected it. When I disconnected the IACV it did not drop any from that mark. You are right sometimes brand new parts do malfunction. I got another one because mine was still under warranty. Im going to install it tmrw and readjust the idle. I also found a vaccum leak between the intake and the valve cover it two spots. Strange that they did not find that at the shop huh

Hey RonJ can you tell me what the part circled in red is called. This is the third time I have pulled the plastic cap off and the screw is all the way out and laying in the cap.
