Coil over problem

Hello,
I just did my first rear coil over but the is one issue when I installed the tire the top 2 bolts that need to be tighten that hold the shock. It's sticks out way to far and the car is bouncy did I miss a step.

Pictures would help, also did you have anything left over or was here a rubber mount on the old shock that needed to get transferred over?

Definitely be better if you posted pics would give people a better understanding... But on a different note make sure there was no washer or rubber boot that needed to move over missed one when I did my shocks and it popped out while I was driving thank god I decided to drive around for a bit first...
