The alternator went bad which damaged the ecu. I need to replace it but i don't where to find it in the car. And how to replace it myselfWhat's wrong with the ECU?

My mechanic told me. And he wanted to charge 1000$ to replace itHow do you know the ECU was damaged?

It's unlikely the ECU has gone bad. It's not impossible, but it's not very common.
@ralph haber what's wrong with the car currently? Does it run / drive?
For $1000 you can get a new motor, or a brand new 2017 gaming computer. For him to charge that price to replace an ECU (which is literally plug and play)... yikes.
