D17A1 engine bit the dust

So it's time for a new engine. I can't seem to find any good ones that aren't extremely high in price. So i began to think about a D17a. Thing is well it bolt up fine to an auto and the engine mounts? if it does wouldn't i need to reprogram the engine for ignition timing?

I'm complete;y clueless on this and have searched but with so many d17a series it really gets tangled and makes it hard on a guy like me.

First off, provide basic details like what you drive, current engine and if your tranny is auto or manual. Also explain why you think your engine needs to be replaced, and what your current skill level is. Please respond clearly if you want helpful responses. Im not understanding how you have a D17A1 yet are asking if a D17A, the same thing, will fit.
