I know it is illegal to not run a cat on your car but lets say for arguments sake that where I live they do not check for emissions would it even be remotely a good idea to remove my cat and run straight pipes or do I need the back pressure from it? would I gain horses and torque or lose them? I guess I'm asking pros and cons for this idea..

:welcome: to ClubCivic!

Pros:
Less-restrictive flow, better power gains

Cons:
Illegal
You'll get a CEL
You'll need to trick your system into thinking you have a cat / have working o2 sensors.

With that being said, it's not really worth the hassle with a N/A daily, IMO.

Not worth the 1-2 hp that you will never feel. If you haven't already, pick up a cold air intake and enjoy the little pick up you get on the low end and the great noise it produces.
