My Civic grinds 3rd gear slightly only when you are over about 2200 RPM.

This just started today, I usually don't get too high 1-3 anyways but I did notice this slight grind. Read around and the consensus seems to be to swap the tranny fluid for synchromesh fluid. That is all well and good I'll do that tomorrow.

If that doesn't solve my problem, should I look into a tranny swap, or rebuild? I haven't gotten into a tranny since my GTI and that was fun, but a long process.

Also read the mounts, should I just replace those anyways?

@178k now, bought it at 175 no previous maintence history. But $1000 was a steal :P

For $1000 that's not too bad at all! Lots of miles though. Sounds like your synchro's might be starting to go.

I say if you feel comfortable enough with your Fri tranny then redo the new one. Buy all new synchros and get after it. Should be able to get them from mfactory for some nice ones.
