Hey all been a while but I put a motor in my 96 lx d16y7 got it all running but iac valve.
So a few weeks back got a cel for the iac which I knew was bad
But the battery was not getting 14v running so I ordered a new alternator too.
Installed them Iac works great but alternator the same also my code reader will not connect
I think something went bad between the last time I read a code
Checked fuses 15 for sure anyone have any ideas

Turn the key on ( Engine off). Then check whether the battery light/charging light in the cluster turns on and stays on.

Does the warning light stay on with the engine running?

What voltage do you read across the battery posts with the engine running?

The charging warning light should turn on and stay on with the engine running when the voltage is only 12.5V.

Did you forget to connect the large alternator cable to the alternator?

Make sure the alternator cable is also a securely attached at the hood fuse box.

Is the G2 ground wire also attached to the chassis?

I cleaned the g2 ground and wiggled the ground at the stat since that was the last place I work on and got 14v and my obd2 reader back
