Engine heat coming into where I sit.

95 Frankenstein

Ok here's the scoop. I bought a 95 civic with a b16a swap. It's a Frankenstein car. Anyway when the engine gets warm and I'm driving I get a lot of the heat inside the car. Switching between "windshield", vents" don't change. Plus I always have heat coming out of my defrost mode. I don't have a ac compressor so I can't just turn that on. Does the "door" from switching between modes have any affect on the "door" for recirc. Or outside in air? Also could I be missing se kind of door that blocks heat from coming in from the engine or do you think it's just stuck open? And where would I find this vent?

One heater hose on the firewall has a coolant valve on it. Check whether that valve is stuck open. If so manually close it to see whether hot air no longer blows from the vents.
