erratic idle on 98 Civic LX

My car did a real funky thing today. I started up my car like normal and I drove it down about a block. When I was about to park my car I noticed my car was still pulling as if I had my foot on the gas pedal. I threw it into neutral and I saw that it was revving between 2-3000 rpm. It did the same thing in park. I shut off the car and inspected the engine bay to see if anything looked abnormal but everything looked fine. I let it relax for about 5-10 minutes and I started it back up and the problem was gone.

I searched around and I saw the IACV and TPS come up as possible culprits but from what I was reading that's usually the case if the idle is erratic all the time. Mine was just a one time deal. Could it be a sign that one of the two or both my IACV & TPS are going out? Or could it be something entirely different?

Could be your throttle cable or thorttle body butterfly is sticking. Check the throttle cable and make sure you have some slack.

Also do a thorough cleaning of the throttle body.
