Few issues

I have a 2000 civic DX sedan. Currently is running with the engine light on. Occasionally, when I accelerate, the engine light blinks and the car loses acceleration and shakes. Also, sometimes when I accelerate, I hear a loud knock coming from what I think is the transmission. Maybe a bad mount? Not a handy guy so I'm not really knowledgeable on what the issue could be.

Scanfor the engine code being given and report back to us. Thatll make any further engine trouble shooting much easier.

If the sound is more of a "thunk" that a light tap (knock) then it may be an engine or transmission mount. Visually inspect them.
