Gasket ?

I didn't use no silicone on mine when i installed a new one and i have no leaks. This was on a d15b7 though. Little different from your valve cover.

Yes of course! you need to place silicone on those corners where it it known to cause leak. its only 4 corners, so 4 dabs.

yep, might as well spend a few extra bucks and save the oil leak headaches

I never do and havent had any leaks,but then again its not a bad idea:thumbup:

ok,cool..where is common leaks on a d16y8? cause Ive got two oil spots by left oil pan,the guy I bought the car from said it needed a new dipstick tube grommet,idk..there is quite a bit of oil on my block as well..im clueless on where to start???

Honda bond on the four corners of the valve cover gasket.

Two spots of oil by the driver side drive axle ish area,lol below belts.
Sounds like a front main. Wouldn't hurt to check out your oil pan gasket either :what:
I just did mine recently.

I put a small dab on each corner of the valve cover and oil pan gasket. I havent had any problems.

As for your leak in that area, it could be your dip stick grommet but I highly doubt it. Its most likely your front main (seal on the crank). Its not too hard to fix, while youre at it you might as well slap on a new OEM timing belt!
Also do your oil pan gasket, its like $25 from the dealer and super easy to do.
