Hatchback Exhaust to Coupe Extension Question

I bought a used catback for a 6 gen civic hatch and I need to extend it to fit my coupe. I have an idea on how to do it but I just wanna see if this idea will actually work.

Can I just buy 2 70mm flanges to fit the exhaust, weld a 6" piece of stainless to both the flanges, and just use that piece to connect the axleback to the bpipe?

If this will not work can someone tell me what will?

I may be wrong, but if your trying to use a 6th gen hath exhaust on a 6th gen coupe, I believe you would actually need to shorten it to fit the exhaust, since the dx and cx models have catalytic converters located directly on the exhaust manifold, the coupe versions have full manifolds with the converter located further back. I believe you would also need to extend your exhaust tip some because the 6th gen hatchback is a little shorter than the coupe's. I'm sure an exhaust shop could handle the fitment and fabrication for you fairly cheap.
