Hey guys,
I was driving and kind of got driven off the road. the car started smoking but stopped and I was able to drive my vehicle home but the next day when I tried to start it would not start. I looked and saw the alt belt was snapped. I changed the alternator belt and started the car and it started smoking uncontrollable so I turned it off, I adjusted the tension and the problem seemed to have stop.
Now the problem that I am having is there are metal shavings/filaments coming from the 'belt area', does anyone know what this is and how to solve the problem? the car runs fine, I haven't driven it yet because of this.
p.s I accidently broke the wing nut on the tensioner so I went to an auto store to purchase a regular bolt that would fit so I can tighten the belt.
