Honda Service Manual errors ???

Hi guys,

I need a double check with you because I'm preparing to replace the timing belt and water pump on my 2000 civic DX. To make a story short, while was reading the HSM (Honda Service Manual), I notice that several bolt sizes indicated in this manual are different from a stock civic. For example, the bolt size of the upper bracket engine mount from the Manual is 12mm, whereas mine and other Civic is 17mm. Same situation for the valve cover: 6mm vs 10mm. The bolt size of the timing belt tensioner is also different.

So my question is: can I trust the torque spec from the Honda Service Manual ? I'm worry about this because this engine is made of aluminum and I don't want to damage any threads, but I don't want to undertorque these bolts either, especially for the bolt of the tensioner.

Anyway thx
