!!! In Need Of Help Plz!!! Engine...

I have a 96 civic with a 96 gsr engine.Tthe speedometer stoped working and the check engine light turned on. Does anyone know what could be the problem? I was tolded from a friend that the check engine is on because of the o2 sensor, and the speedometer isnt working because of the VSS( Vehicle Speed Sensor). I need help fast because i need to get this car smoged so i can register it. Any help with be greatly appreciated, thanks.

goto an autoparts store, and they have free ob2 testors that you can use, that will tell you whats wrong, i think the VSS thorws a code to, if im not mistaken

Whats the code, check the fuses.

i bet its code 17. vss. did you check to see if its pluged in? its on the passenger side and its got 3 wires goin to it. right under you intake box
