Jdm d15b non vtec valve noise

So I have a jdm d15b non vtec in my 2000 civic about 5k miles since swap that has terrible valve train noise anyone have similar issues or any idea on what to check?

How does it not have vtec when D15B engines have a 3-stage vtec? Did you swap the head? If so, please provide further related details.

Have you adjusted the valves yet? Please try to describe the sound in order to encourage helpful responses.

No it is a non vtec d15b imported all stock


And it's a very loud almost lifter tick and I have not cause I don't have the specs I need to adjust to

My mistake. I forgot theres the uncommon non-VTEC version. A quick Google search shows that it has the same valve clearance as most D-series engines.

intake: 0.18-0.22 mm (0.007-0.009 in) exhaust: 0.23-0.27 mm (0.009-0.011 in)
