So the 96 civic i recently purchased seems to have had a swap, since it is an Ex it should have the d16y8 right? After some research i found the current engine (d16y7) doesnt necessarily have a knock sensor when in the DX LX or HX model. I purchased a cheap 15 dollar knock sensor just to make sure that it will work with my car, but it wont be here until the 17th. My cars CEL recently turned on and everyone i took it to said it was a code p0325. I just want to know if anyone has an any experience with cel after doing a swap or having a car with a swap. Will putting a knock sensor work on turning off the cel? I bought a cheap one just in case it doesnt. Has anyone ever bought a cheap knock sensor from places like ebay or amazon? how long do they last?
