Low idle?

I got a 2000 ex coupe and when i turn it on the car revs then the rpm go all the way down and the car seems like its off , then quickly goes up to about 200-300 rpm. I adjusted the distributor but it only went up to about 400 rpm. Any idea what's going on?

Could be many things, Idle air control valve, clogged fuel filter, old plugs or wires. Any check engine lights? How does the car run otherwise? Besides at idle.
