I have a 07 Honda civic 5 speed when my car idles it makes a weird noise and it goes away if I press the clutch. It makes the noise when I am driving as well the faster I go the louder it gets. but if I press my clutch it goers away regardless. Someone told me it was the carrier bearing in the diff. someone please help.

If you changed it then you should know how to check it. Turn on the car then have someone engage and disengage the clutch while you listen for sounds at the Slave cylinder.

Highly Unlikely.

Who suggested a bad differential bearing?

Put the transmission in neutral with engine running and clutch pedal up. Do you hear the noise?

Now press the clutch pedal down. Does the noise go away?

If so, this^test rules out the differential.
Are u talking about the input shaft bearing?

Symptoms point to the input shaft bearing, though the noise would get louder with increased RPMs, independent of vehicle speed. But it would def be heard when driving or in neutral, and would go away with the clutch pedal pushed in.

In neutral, if you rev the engine, does the noise get louder?
