my first car 1990 hatch 1.6L stock motor

i got my car 2 months ago. now i want to add some hp but dont no were to start.
tell me what to do or things i can do thanks

ebay intake and muffler will gain hp

i got muffler i had to take the cold air intake it had off of it to smog
correct me if im wrong this motor is a D15b as of what i found out
online .
i have ben looking online for parts here and there but i cant seem to
locate that many upgrades.

If its a 1.6L its a D16A6. Traction bars, headers, an intake, full exhaust, short shifter, clutch kit. Any D series part will fit. your best bed for REAL horsepower is swap that dingle cam for a DOHC VTEC motor. or swap the head for a Vtec one. the only things really car specific are the body parts. any civic single cam parts will bolt right up (some require some modification but you get the idea)

A good intake and exhaust do help. A mini me/head swap would do wonders too. What kind of miles are on it?
