Things are moving along. New HVAC units will be decided on tonight. Its either $4700 or $6100 out of pocket to me. Closest organizers hung, doors test fitted, trim up. Now just need to paint the doors.

Wow everything looks so freakin sweet dude. Look into the new AC units, something like R90. Conventional units are going out, and within this decade you won't even be able to get a charge for them.

Thanks Vic. Unfortunately its an electric unit with no option for gas so its a heat pump/furnace system. Everything down to the freon line and electrical box outside are getting replaced. All companies that came out for estimates suggested moving it to the side of the house rather than under the deck. It does have proper clearance where it is but they were worried about noise. Also need to add a cold air return as there is 1,000 CFM output but only 800 at best input. So yeah, the $6100 is for a 14 SEER unit with a variable speed motor bringing it to a 15 SEER. The $4700 is a 13 SEER unit with variable speed motor bringing it up to a 14 SEER. Two different companies. Leaning toward the $6100 job.

I'm going to be honest......I don't understand a damn thing you just said

You are OBVIOUSLY much more of a handy-man than I am, I was just trying to throw that out there as my father and I had our AC unit replaced recently and that's what we were told. As long as you know what you are doing :thumbs up:

Update time. This week got a new air handler and heat pump put in (Furnace and AC), got the hanging electric cord set up, finished up a few closets and started working on the railing.

Old stuff coming out...

And the new. Heat pump was moved from the back of the house to the side.

And the closets are done. Still working on finishing the patch work on the wall.

Railing parts stained.

And the workstation complete with hanging electric.

I've said it before but it must feel so rewarding having your own home and doing all this work and being able to step back and admire it. I'm jealous.

Good s**t man :thumbs up.

I don't have the skill. Dad is the one with the skill. I am just helping him work on my house. And the best part is the labor is free.
