Because my new car is not on the road yet and the old one was broken down I could not drive from Edmonton to nisku for my welding job. A friend of mine hooked me up with a job as a first year auto tech at fountain tire which was right by my house. I do a lot of tires and oil changes. I make 17.50 an hour us a 5% commission on all the work I do. Plus I am apprenticing. It s altitude bit of a career change.

Anyway because I was such a hard worker my boss said that he would fix my car for free. I had AMA tow it to the shop and the mechanic (23 years as a journeyman) looked at it. He found out that when I had taken off the thermostat housing I was also disconnecting the igniter ground hooked to it. That's why it would not start. He then ordered a new thermostat because it was bad. He put it all together, bled the system and took it for a long drive. Didn't overheat. I got to drive it home. No labour charges. My cost was 20 bucks for a new thermostat and oil cap.

The new civic should be on the road by the middle of may.
