Quick question bout some oil.

I running castrol gtx oil 10w-40. Is it alright to switch to 10w-30. went to the auto parts store and picked up the wrong oil. just want to know before i take it back.

yea just drain the pain real well when switching oil weight. but should be okay. i wouldn't keep that a permanent choice though, switch back next change

As long as its synthetic -> synthetic or conventional -> conventional than you are golden.

Just drain it very well and of course change the filter. The weights aren't too drastically different. Just don't keep switching all the time.

This is the important part. If you switch for one interval, it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Run the engine for a few minutes to warm up the oil, makes it easier, and faster to get the old stuff out.
