Radiator Drain Plugs

Ok, so while doing repairs on my 93 civic lx I lost the radiator drain plug. I went to an auto parts store and purchased a replacement. It fits however. there is a small hole pointing straight down where you screw the plug in to and it is still dripping fluid out when I install the plug. Does anyone have any suggestions cause I REALLY need to get this car on the road again. Thank you.
