Returning to honda

What's up I'm new to the forum and just got back into a 01 civic ex I believe it's the d17 sohc vtec and there's an issue with the car the clutch will not engage while the car is on I'm thinking throw out bearing since a new clutch has just been installed but a friend told me to check all the ground cables in the bay and I noticed the last owner painted and didn't sand the area where the ground connects to the frame is that a possibility for the car not to go into gear?

It's possible. That should be a quick fix so sand away some paint and see if that makes a difference.

those ebay tow hooks are sketchy as hell i always imagine some poor tow truck driver attempting to actually use the tow hook and getting cut in half when it snaps.
