Hey there guys just looking to lower my car 1.5" to 2.0" I have narrowed it down to three options that are are in my price range. This car is my daily driver I don't plan on tracking the car or doing autocross. I just want a smaller gap between tire and fender with a slight improvement in handling. My buddy has the racelands on his jetta and the ride is nice a little softer than I'd like but no bad for a daily driver. If anyone has used any of the three and can give me some good direction that'd be great. And I don't want to hear get Groundcontrol and Koni's. I dont want to spend that much.thanks for any and all help in advance

You could get S.Techs that will get you the drop you want while using your stock strut without issues. Cheapest and easiest route.

Civexspeedy thanks for the input I'll look into the S techs. One thing I liked about the coilovers is the ability to adjust the height. So I can play around with the height.

Mistahjuice the Rokko coilovers have the same spring rates and come with a 3 year warranty.I'm just a little nervous to buy them since there are zero reviews for the 6th gen civics. Lots of the vw guys use them and say pretty good things.

For some reason I read this as being for a 7th gen...

Since it's a 6th gen, yeah Progress CS-2 and call it a day. They will be far better than those Rokko or Racelands or w/e and well worth the extra $200.

There's a reason you can't find any solid reviews on those other coilovers... I wouldn't trust the majority of the VW scene at all when it comes to this kind of stuff. They are a joke.

Also remember that while you can adjust your ride height with coilovers, every time you make an adjustment you will need to get another alignment done. So in reality it's best to leave your ride height alone. There are advantages to coilovers, but I think messing with the ride height when ever you please with no negative effect is a common misconception.

Function and Form Type 1. Worth every penny.

Dont cheap out on your suspention, seriously. Last thing you want is to spend couple hundered and get a crappy ride. Then spend a couple extra hundred more to get a decent set up. do it right the frist time. wait a couple extra months save some more money and but some quality coilovers. you'll thank us later.

Thanks for the good info I guess I'll wait and get the progress coilovers. A couple more overtime shifts before school starts back won't kill me. Oh and when I said mess the the height I meant find how low I can drop without scraping and the tires rubbing and then leave the height there. Thanks for all The info.

Any one else wanna chime in form function or progress?
I don't know enough for a comparison between the two, but I've seen countless rides with F&F type 1's. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but Child's build went with F&F type 1's right? And there's countless comments about him going with legit, reputable parts. Him among countless others.

i hear good things about both coilovers, i was considering going with raceland but i decided to wait and save more money to buy a legit set. im stuck between F&F type 1 and 2, koni/gc and progress. i think its goin to be worth the wait.
