shifter loose

when i have it in gear i get alot of play. and when i took apart my center consloe i found a black rubber ring around my shifter. what did i do wrong?

normal and black rubber thingy is to keep water and such out of the interior bc of the hole in the floor

but yea the looseness is sorta normal for our cars

Eran says (he's right next to me) that it looks like your boot is tearing. He says you'll proibably have to replace the boot, the bushing that goes around the ball joint, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to get some shift linkage bushings from Energey Suspension (about $15 shipped). He also said it just might be easier to go to a junkyard and drop the entire shift linkage out of another car so you'd basically already have everything intact.

wouldnt it be better to get a new boot ? Yes i have energy bushing kit on they way order them today
