speedometer and gas gage and cluster lights not working?

i have a 93 civic and my speedometer and gas gage/ cluster lights are not working. the lights cut on when i turn the light on and thats it.. i put a new cluster in and same problem. i thought maybe the speed sensor but how would that mess with the lights and the gas gage too? any help would be great. thanks

Have you tried replacing the dimmer switch?
