Speedometer (part of) illumination goes off and on!

I picked up a 95 VX the other week. When driving at night sometimes part of the speedo at the 12 o' clock position (60-80mph I believe) will be lit then other days it is not. It's only that one spot that keeps going in and out. Are there individual bulbs that illuminate the speedo?

Never noticed it flickering or going on to off or off to on while driving.........

yes there are individual bulbs. try pulling the cluster out and seeing if the bulb has somehow came loose. the bulbs twist in. if its not loose try to just replace the bulb.pull it out of the plastic piece and push in a new one.

i replaced all the bulbs in my cluster. sometimes this happens to me too. just bang you rhand on the dash hard. and they usually come back on. for me its because the bulbs were a bit loose. i have to find a way to make them alittle more snug.
