Hello fellow honda lovers, I recently bought this 04 honda civic from a guy on Craigslist and he told me everything was fine with the car until it overheated on him, well he decided to replace the water pump and he said from there he could not get it running right. I automatically thought it was a timing g assembly issue, well it turns out that was not the case, I did everything right. I even replaced the headgasket and timing g belt realigned the timing marks and still not starting. I checked for fuel, spark and air and it's seems to be all there. When I hold the gas pedal to the floor it hesitates to turn on so I have to keep revving the engine for it to stay on, and as soon as I let off the gas pedal it dies instantly. Any suggestions guys, ease it would help out alot to get this nice car running again. Has anyone had this similar problem "car wont stay on".
