I just love when the gas gets stuck, ya know... when the floor mat likes to get jammed up in there.

Happened to me today in my sisters automatic.

Scary as f**k, cause you're thinkin... oh s**t oh s**t what do I do.

Fun times

Reference for anyone who's car won't release the gas.

Its most likely the floor mat, jammed up there.

Happen to you guys much?

if you go to honda.. they should give you a free peg that works with the OEM floor mats to make that NOT happen.. its a known safety issue..

He said it was an automatic. But you could throw it in neutral, same thing.

Yeah, use to have a huge problem with that, so I pulled those floor mats out so fast. I know about the peg, but it doesnt work all that well. Its helps, but it can come off the peg.

I have the peg in my car and it's never came off the peg, it's even hard to get it off when I try to take them out to clean... so in other words get a peg!

It was a recall. on the 96 (and 97 IIRC) I know that the 98's came with them. But as far as the throttle sticking yeah, one of my friends had this problem on his 90 DX hatch.

When I went through driver's ed class, they talked about that. They said to take your foot and get it behind the pedal and pull out with your foot. Funny thing is that 2 years down the road that happened to me. The throttle of my car got stuck open and I put my foot behind the pedal and pulled out. Nothing. Car kept accelerating. So I just turned the car off. Thats your next step in the process. The car will still stop when you step on the brake. I started it right up and it never happened again.
