Timing Adjustment Question

Hello, unfortunately my heater hose blew when I was far from home. Long story short I had it taken to Pepboys to get it replaced. When I left I was told they had to remove the distributor to get to it.

The next day I felt like the car is a bit sluggish so I called to ask if the car was timed since they removed the distributor. The mechanic told me he didn't because he "put it straight back on". I explained that it wasn't possible because there are adjustment groves so he would have had to checked the timing.

Aren't I correct that they should have checked the timing? I don't have a light with me and now I am hesitant to take it back into them even though they said to ... figure they won't know how to short the ecu out or who knows what.

yeah your right, if it comes off and they didnt literally mark it (i.e. sharpie, scribe, paint pen... something!) then it should be re-timed, and no if they didnt know to do that i would take it back to them either.

hope that helps
