When I bought my car I a 99 EX I mistook the engine plate which I though said d16y8. The car really has a d16y5 in it, meaning their has been a swap. Oh well it does suck but what I am wondering is if I have an EX tranny or not. How would I find this out is their a stamp or something??? Thank you for your help in advance.

I am switching from a Mazda platform, so I am learning about Honda still. With that being said I am wondering if their are different gear ratios. I am sure there are, and If so what is the best tranny to run??

Yeah, you really won't notice much of any difference between any D-series transmissions.
