VTEC not working??

I have a 99 SI B16 and it is throwing the TPS code. I have replaced it 2 times now. However after I changed it the first time my vtec will not engage. I am not sure what to check or if there is something else I need to do to make it work again.

Did you set the TPS for the right voltage? Your TPS is a 5v input sensor and if the PCM doesn't have correct parameter readings it won't allow vtec to engage, its a sort of safety for your engine. You can set the voltage by using a voltmeter and probing the power wire. You want it set to ~1v at idle and ~4.5v at wide open throttle.
