Really whats the difference between any transmission other than the stock on.
Also with the block. By putting in a B20 or some other engine what does that change.
Ability to raise HP and torque. If so how???

By the way im pretty much a n00b at this stuff.
Just bought my first car.
2000 Civic Hatchy DX.
Don't really know much about performance upgrades besides turbos and superchargers.
I need to be enlightened.

just know everything is money. the d16y7 motor and tranny come in your car. if you want a little boost, you can swap out the transmission for a d16y8(96-00 civic) or a d16z6(92-95 civic ex/si) tranny. the gearing is closer so you will pick up speed faster. after that just turbo the thing. its preety simple once you learn the basics

if you wanted a b16/b18/b20, you would a b series transmission, different mounts, shift linkage, axles and some other s**t.

a Y6 tranny IS stock.
the main diffrence between tranny's is a/t or m/t
then another diffrence is the gear ratio.
another diffrence might be if its got an lsd or not (fwd)

if you change the block, depending on the specs of that block,
it can raise, or lower compression ratio and hp/tq. depending on what
you want to do with your motor and what your goals are, you would have to choose a
specific block.
