Will D15 bolt ons work on D17

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and looking for some advice. I've got a 2004 Civic with a D15y6 engine. The head gasket blew recently and my mechanic said that if I got a head and block it will be an easier job. I was looking at doing a full swap one time as I want to upgrade the engine and convert to manual anyway, but that will have to wait for now.

What I'm wondering is if I buy a head and block from a D17A, will the bolt ons such as alternator, starter, throttle body, exhaust etc... be able to work?

The easiest way to figure that out would be to look up the intake manifold gasket and exhaust manifold gasket for both engines and see if they're the same part numbers.

I highly doubt that a D17 head would bolt on do a D15. Plus why would you try it? D17 aren't the most reputable engines made by Honda.. probably one of the worst actually.

Because he has a 7th gen, so the swap will be way WAY easier.
